As fall approaches the grass, trees, and atmosphere begin to change. Things seem to start to slow growth and dormancy sets in. People begin to get a bigger bounce in their step and a little more friendly. Our summers are very hot in Florida so many do not get outside unless the sun is down or something might need attention like long grass.
So when we start getting the cooler temperatures you will see more people riding bikes and taking longer walks, however most pools in our area will not be swimming in because we get used to the warm temps and 80 degree water is a bit cool to us. With all the changes being made, we all reflect on the up coming holidays. With that comes stress and wondering what to get him or her for this or that. I don’t know about many but I think the holidays should not be stressful and we need to learn how to make them wonderful. Even if we do not have a lot of members in our families costs can get out of control. I am suggesting we make plans to buy for one person or something of the sort. It would make it so much less stressful and really fun. Of course this is a good idea if everyone lived close in proximity, but it can be done long distance as well. I know this has been done for years, I just wonder why we all can’t keep this tradition up so it can make holidays fun and enjoyable.
To help elevate some stress find a place to sit quietly. Make a conscious effort to empty your mind. When any thoughts other than God’s quietness comes in, imagine yourself removing it … God cannot fill an already occupied space.
Lets reflect on what Christmas is all about …
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
